

Master Gunnery Sergeant (Ret.) Raymond Ira Graves, age 70 of Hubert, North Carolina passed away June 25, 2018. He was born in Atlanta, Georgia to the late Jesse Graves, Jr. and Sarah Elizabeth Smith Graves. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Rachel Kristin Smith and a granddaughter, Rachel Arianna Smith. He retired after 31 years in the United States Marine Corps, having served in Vietnam and Desert Storm. He was an instructor for many years and was a member of the VFW. He enjoyed fishing, NASCAR, and was an avid Alabama Football fan – Roll Tide! Survivors include his wife of 14 years, Wanda Graves; children, Patrick Graves, Heather (Chet) Currey, Holly Grissett, Todd Harrison and Andrea Einhaus; grandchildren, Aliah, Jesse, Christiana, Hannah, Joshlyn, Collin and Addison; great granddaughter, Delilah; siblings, Maydelle Ward, Laura (David) Simpson, Betty Murray, David (Cindy) Graves, Julie (Mark) Belliveau, Rose (Derrick) Linder, John (Ingrid) Murray, Hal (Nancy) Stonecypher and Jerri (Mike) Green; many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 30, 2018 – 2:00 PM in the Haisten Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Kenny Heath will officiate. Interment will follow at Locust Grove Cemetery with full military honors. Friends may visit the family Saturday one hour prior to the service.
