Mr. Mike Gilmer, age 63 of Locust Grove, Georgia passed away September 22, 2014. Mike was born in Arkansas to the late Herbert and Linnie Mae Reed Gilmer. He was preceded in death by a son, Mark Gilmer. He graduated from Henry County High School, Class of 1969 and attended the University of Georgia. Mike had worked for the City of McDonough Police Department as Chief of Police and then for Williamson Bros., Walker Concrete and Collins Bros. He was a member of Believer’s Baptist Church in Griffin. Mike enjoyed weekends with his granddaughters, golfing, attending and planning rodeos and John Wayne movies. Survivors include his wife, Jackie Munn Gilmer; son and daughter in law, Joey and Julie Gilmer; granddaughters, Cheyanne, Tiffany and Harlie. Memorial services will be conducted Saturday, September 27, 2014 at 5:00 pm at Heritage Baptist Church with Pastor Terrell Hopkins officiating.
