Mike Sturm

Mike Sturm, age 74, of McDonough, Georgia passed away on Monday, August 5, 2024. He was born on October 8, 1949 in Greeneville, TN to the late William Mike and Edith Ruth Sturm. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Trish. Mike graduated from Greenveville High School, attended trade school for Tool and Die Machinist and attended college for a couple of years and then joined the ministry. He was a minister for 28 years, conducted many revivals at other churches and did missionary work in Argentina. Mike pastored Sixth Avenue Church of God in Decatur, Alabama. He became a Hospice Chaplain for 2 years in Chattanooga, TN. Mike became an Executive Director for Assisted Living Facilities for several years, most notably with Carestone at Mt. Zion Assisted Living. He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Gina of McDonough, children Allen (Andy) Sturm of Alvaton, KY, Amy (Rickey) Foster of Chuckey, TN, Tania Sturm and Bradley Sturm of McDonough, grandchildren, Ashley, Ben, Abby and Sam, siblings, Evelyn, Gary, Ricky and Brian and his wife Lindy. Micah Sturm, nephew, will officiate a Celebration of Life at 2:00pm on Sunday, August 11, 2024 at Haisten Funeral Home in McDonough, Georgia. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may send contributions to The American Heart Association.
