Richard Arlen Ragsdale

Mr. Richard Arlen Ragsdale, age 81 of McDonough, Georgia passed away January 16, 2018. He was born in LaGrange, Georgia to the late Edmond and Addie Knight Ragsdale. Dick served in the Army Reserves and was the Principal of Forest Park High School for 19 years. He was a member of the Clayton County Retired Educators and the National Education Association. He had been a member of the Jonesboro First Baptist Church since 1970, where he served as a Deacon and enjoyed church activities. Dick was an avid golfer. Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Doris East Ragsdale; daughter, Wendy Lynne (Wayne) DeCoste of Livermore, CA; grandchildren, Stephanie Allen of Butler, GA and Andrew (Melanie) Allen of Alpharetta, GA; great granddaughter, Abby Allen; brothers, Gene (Patricia) Ragsdale of Swainsboro, GA and Charles (Beverly) Ragsdale of Pine Mountain Valley, GA. Funeral services will be held Friday, January 19, 2018 – 2:00 PM in the Haisten Funeral Home Chapel. Friends may visit the family Friday one hour prior to the service.
