Ms. Stephanie Nicole Thompson, age 32 of Hampton, Georgia passed away November 26, 2017. She was born in Atlanta, Georgia to James and Linda Dodgen Bunn. She was an Honor Graduate of Henry County High School, Class of 2004, Honor Graduate of Clayton State University, Class of 2008, with a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing and a 2016 graduate of Georgia State University with a Master’s of Science in Nursing. Stephanie worked in the ER of Piedmont Henry Hospital for six years and was a member of Liberty Hill Baptist Church. Stephanie loved her children and the time spent with them. She also enjoyed time with her friends, attending social events, shopping, working in the yard, dancing, and traveling locally and abroad. Stephanie had a thirst for knowledge, loved learning and practicing medicine. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Lillian and Harold Dodgen and her paternal grandfather, Milton Bunn. Survivors include her children, A.J. Thompson and Samuel Thompson IV; father of her children, Sam Thompson III of Hampton; parents, James and Linda Bunn of Hampton; sister, Lora (Ron Sanders) Archer of Atlanta; brother, Christopher Bunn of Hampton; paternal grandmother, Betty Bunn of Hampton; numerous uncles, aunts and cousins. Funeral services will be held Friday, December 1, 2017 – 2:00 PM at the Hampton First Baptist Church. Pastor Craig McAdams will officiate. Interment will follow at Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church Cemetery. Friends may visit the family Thursday from 5:00 – 8:00 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to be made to the Hampton First Baptist Academy in memory of Stephanie. Arrangements are under the direction of Haisten Funeral Home of McDonough, www.haistenfunerals.com.
