Roddy was born in Atlanta, Ga to the late Waymon Rodgers Sr. and Dorothy Price. He served his country in the United States Air Force, where he obtained the rank of Staff Sargeant.
Roddy enjoyed water skiing, gardening (boy, did that yard have to be meticulous), auto racing, and supporting his favorite local sports teams. He cheered for the Atlanta Braves, Atlanta Falcons and of course the Ramblin' Wreck of Georgia Tech!
Most important to Roddy was time spent with his family. His memory lives on in those he loved most: his partner Shirley Vaughn, his sons Rodney Price (wife Christy) and Tracy Price (wife Nicholle), grandchildren Lacey Turpin, Wesley Price and Lauren Price as well as great grandchildren Rhett Turpin and Kinley Turpin.
Roddy's family also includes: his sisters Nancy Price (partner Dianne Terrasi) and Eleanor Bledsoe (husband Wade), his niece Anna Marie Echols (husband Terry), and Shirley's daughter Cindy and grandson Shane. No list of loved ones would be complete without his beloved dog Coco.
There will be a family celebration of Roddy's life held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers the family has asked that a donation be made in Roddy's name to the Alzheimer's Association.
