Known to many as Charlie, he was born in McGregor, TX on December 17, 1939 to the late Louis Wiethorn and Henrietta Fehler Wiethorn—the youngest of four boys. He attended Crawford public schools, where he met Charlotte Biggs. They married on January 26, 1962 and had three children. He moved his family to the Dallas area in 1965.
Charles’ strong work ethic and commitment to providing for his family guided his inherent entrepreneurial skills. He founded Super Movers, Inc in 1977, which was later named “Best Mover in Dallas” by D. Magazine, as well as “Official Mover of the Dallas Cowboys”. In addition, he was honored with the opportunity to move then-governor, President George W. Bush into his Crawford ranch.
But Charles wasn’t always about business. He could fix anything, and his greatest joy came from helping others. He was dedicated to his community, and many knew they could depend on him for a helping hand whenever needed. His trademarks of generosity and a contagious smile will always be remembered.
Charles had a unique sense of humor. He loved laughter and was quick to share a colorful joke or creative prank. Ask anyone who knew him, and they will likely have a fond anecdote. His smile and twinkling eyes were symbolic of this playful nature. He loved the outdoors; some of his favorite moments were spent on a golf course with friends, often his grandchildren.
After his wife was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis, the two retired to Crawford in 2002 and Charles became her devoted caregiver. Through this trying time, he committed himself to her care, insisting that Charlotte remain in the comfort of her own home. Charlotte passed in April 2015.
Though Charles was devastated, God led him to find love once again in LaJuana Westerfield, also of Crawford, and the two were wed on September 6, 2015. LaJuana’s bright spirit served to heal the hearts of Charles and his family.
In addition to his wife, LaJuana, Charles will be loved and missed by his children: Ruthi Worsham and husband, Stephen, Ronda Pruett and husband, Ross, and Charles Randel “Randy” Wiethorn; grandchildren: Andrew Pruett, Alexandria Worsham Carpenter and husband, Aron, Phillip Worsham, Madeleine Worsham and fiancé, Michael Toland, Nathan Worsham, Jessica Wiethorn, and Rebekah Wiethorn and fiancé, Cole Duncan.
In the spirit of Charles’ passion for his community, his family will be hosting a visitation-style memorial at Cole Funeral Home on Saturday, January 16. Friends and family are welcomed to stop by anytime between 3:00 and 6:00 to unite, rejoice in God’s grace, and share a cherished memory about Charles.
Arrangements under the direction of Cole Funeral Home, McGregor, TX.
