Eiko Saki Ishikawa Lyle was born in Sendai-shi, Miyagi-ken, Japan on December 12, 1929 to Eiji and Riyo (Kikuchi) Ishikawa. She was the oldest of four sisters and one brother. She took on the responsibility of nursing her ailing mother along with caring for her younger sisters and brother for eight years. She married William D. Lyle in Tokyo, Japan during the Korean conflict. They moved to America by ship arriving on November 13, 1953. Golinda, Texas is where they made their homestead in 1965 raising their five children. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, sewing, gardening, canning and driving her 1965 green Mustang. She loved animals, especially her pet raccoons and cats. She was proud to receive her United States citizenship in San Antonio on September 14, 1989. She was an active member of the International Club of Columbus Avenue Baptist Church of Waco.
Saki is preceded in death by her parents and youngest son, George Layton Lyle.
Survivors include her daughters, Hedy Ann Cox, husband James of Dallas; Mary Lavinnia Lampert, husband Steven of Waco; Margaret Jean Henson, husband Barry of Bruceville-Eddy and a son, Frank Edward Lyle of Gatesville; and five grandchildren, Patricia Cox, Marissa Lyle, George Lyle, Alison Lampert and Colleen Henson.
The family thanks Royal Manor for their caring support of their mother through her final years of life as she battled with Alzheimer’s. Southern Care Hospice support and care was greatly appreciated by the family.
