Flora Bea Dempsey

Bea Dempsey of Leander, formerly of Moody died Tuesday morning, May 8, 2012, at the age of 82. Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Thursday, May 10, 2012, at Cole Chapel, 304 Eighth Street, Moody with Pastor Rick Brann officiating. Interment will follow in Moody Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 6 P.M. Wednesday at Cole Chapel.

Mrs. Dempsey was born May 18, 1929, in Hamilton, Texas, the daughter of the late John Henry and Ada Elma (Thompson) McLearen. She was employed by Owens Illinois Glass Plant in Waco as an inspector until her 1985 retirement. Throughout her life, she has resided in Moody, Waco and Leander.

Also preceding her in death was her husband, Ernest Odes Dempsey in 1981; a brother, Henry McLearen and a sister, Dorothy Rhodes.

Survivors include a son, Jack Dempsey of Leander; a daughter, Linda Dempsey of Leander; three sisters, Bonnie Hill and husband Ronnie of Palestine, Louise Dooley of Glen Rose, Nadine Swindall of Harker Heights; two grandchildren, Derek Fenton, Mariah Dempsey and four great grandchildren., Kaitlin Fenton, Jessica Fenton, Stephanie Fenton, Cassidy Fenton.
