Hettie Lorene Burgess Tucker

Hettie Lorene Tucker of Temple died Wednesday afternoon, October 6, 2010, at the age of 86. Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Saturday, October 9. 2010, at Cole Funeral Home Chapel, 1113 West Fifth Street, McGregor with Rev. Mickey Fugitt officiating. Interment will follow in Moody Cemetery. Visitation will be 6 to 8 P.M Friday at Cole Funeral Home.

Mrs. Tucker was born September 8, 1924, in Gatesville, Texas, the daughter of the late Jay B. and Annie Lee (Biddie) Burgess and attended Moody High School. On April 28, 1942, she married Roland Tucker in Goldwaithe, Texas. After fifty-nine years of marriage, he preceded her in death, June 29, 2001. For about ten years she was employed as a sales clerk for Woolco in Temple.

Also preceding here in death was two granddaughters, a grandson; a daughter.

Survivors include two sons, Ronnie Tucker of Temple, Steve Tucker and wife Kathy of California; a daughter, Bonnie Goodwin and husband Tommy of Troy; three brothers, Bobby Burgess of Moody, Wilton Burgess, James burgess, Junior Burgess all of McGregor; a sister, Darlene Maichenia and husband Pete of San Antonio; nine grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren.
