

Homer Williams of Gatesville, formerly of McGregor, died Thursday morning, July 28, 2011, at the age of fifty-three. Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, August 2, 2011, at Cole Funeral Home Chapel, 1113 West Fifth Street, McGregor with Steve McGough officiating. Interment will follow in McGregor Cemetery. Visitation will be 6 to 8 P.M. Monday at Cole Funeral Home.
Homer was born October 30, 1957, in Waco, Texas, the son of Homer Adrian and Edith Estelle (Randall) Williams. In 1976 he graduated from McGregor High School where he participated in FFA and Track. He later continued his education at TSTC. For twenty years he was employed by Hercules in McGregor in the maintenance department. For the last fourteen years, he has been employed by Texas Department of Corrections Hughes Unit in Gatesville in the boiler maintenance division. On April 11, 2011, he married Mary Ann Allison in Gatesville. He attended Boots and Saddle Cowboy Church in Gatesville. Throughout his life, he enjoyed building model airplanes out of balsa wood, growing vegetable and hunting and fishing.
Preceding him in death was his father Homer Adrian Williams, Sr. and a brother Pete Bourassa.
Survivors include his wife Mary Ann; his mother and step-father, Edith and David Mine of Waco; a son Brandon Williams of Crawford, Kevin Williams of Denton; a step-son, Scotty Masters of McGregor; a daughter, Peggy Sue Williams of Enid, Oklahoma; two step-daughters, Tiffany Ann McFarland of China Spring, Holly Holland of West; one brother, John Curtis Williams of Austin; two sisters, Judith Taft of Hewitt, Edith Ann Norman of Austin; seven grandchildren, Adrian Williams, Dayson Williams, Jazmine Salazar, Joslyn Salazar, Denton Williams, Jillian Salazar, Tripp Williams; step grandchildren, Zachary Masters, Braxton McFarland and Teagan McFarland.
