

Marjorie Nagel of Crawford died early Wednesday morning, February 9, 2011, at the age of 78. Visitation will be 10:30 AM until 12 Noon Saturday, February 12, 2011, at Cole Funeral Home Chapel, 1113 West Fifth Street, McGregor with funeral services immediately follow at 12 Noon with Pastor John Schelter and Pastor Tom Beers officiating. Interment will follow in St. Paul Memorial Park in Crawford.
Mrs. Nagel was born February 3, 1933, in Crawford, Texas, the daughter of the late William Richard and Lena (Steinkamp) Lippe. She was a 1950 graduate of Crawford High School where she played on the Pirate Basketball Team and was Homecoming Queen her Senior year. On August 23, 1950, she married Herman Nagel, Jr. at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Crawford. After fifty-three years of marriage, he preceded her in death, June 17, 2004. Much of her life was spent as a homemaker. During the 1960’s, she lived in Dallas where she was instrumental in organizing the Meals on Wheels Program in 1969 through Central Lutheran Church. She returned to Crawford where she was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church until moving to Rowlett in 2008 when she joined Our Savior Lutheran Church in Mesquite. Throughout her life, she enjoyed her family, sewing, gardening, playing scrabble and dominos.
Also preceding her in death was a son, Billy Dean Nagel, a grandson, Wesley Chace Miller, a granddaughter, Alisha Nagel; a brother, Milford Lippe and a sister, Betty Frady.
Survivors include three sons, Terry Dwain Nagel and wife Kay of Keller, Stan Dale Nagel and wife Kathy of Nevada, Jason Paul Nagel and wife Carla of Cleburne; two daughters, Glenda Kay Baker and husband Don of Beloit, Wisconsin, Cynthia Robin Savage and husband Paul of Rowlett; three brothers, Alton Lippe of Crawford, Don Lippe of Seguin, Larry Lippe of Dallas; three sisters, Frances Dozier of San Antonio, Carol Weschke of Valley Mills, Janet Hestilow of Conroe; sixteen grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren and eight great great grandchildren.
Casketbearers will be Don Bohne, Brad Lippe, Steve Frady, Gaylon Lippe, Randy Johnson, Colin Hestilow, David Lippe.
