Otto Lewis Sanders, Jr.

Mr. Otto Lewis Sanders, Jr., age 93, passed away Friday, June 17, 2016 in Waco, Texas. Visitation will be Monday, June 20, from 6-8 p.m. at Cole Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held Tuesday, June 21, at 10 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Crawford with Pastor Tom Beers officiating. Interment to follow in St. Paul Memorial Park.

Otto was born Sept. 28, 1922 to Otto and Betty Sicko Sanders in Crawford, Texas. He was a longtime resident of Crawford and a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church. Otto worked as a contractor for over 60 years. At the age of 80 he built Rachelle’s house and then at age 90 built Doug’s workshop.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 68 years, Gladys; daughter, Scarlet Rachelle Sanders; son-in-law, Larry Meyer; and granddaughter, Leslie Lynn Meyer.

Otto leaves behind his daughters, Sherry Meyer and special friend, Bob Hutchins; Connie Meyer and husband, Stanley. Grandchildren: Brent Meyer and wife, Meredith; Rachelle Rogers and husband, Doug; Keith Meyer and wife, Maydee; Clint Meyer and Clay Meyer and wife, Lindsey. Great-grandchildren: Blake Meyer, Kendra Meyer and Lyrik Meyer; sister, Betty “Bertha” Lehrmann; brother, Henry Sanders and wife, Ora Marie.
