Peggy Elaine Mattlage, 65, of McGregor, passed away Monday, February 10, 2014 at her residence. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, February 20, 2014 at Canaan Baptist Church in Crawford.
Ms. Mattlage was born on February 10, 1949 in Clifton, Texas to Ruth and Marvin Mattlage. She graduated from McGregor High School and attended Baylor University. Ms. Mattlage loved gardening, writing, cooking, swimming and music; but her true love was her family. She was preceded in death by her parents; Ruth, Marvin and Tom and her ex-husband; Les Smith. Survivors include her children; Todd Parsons, Tanya Sluder, and Margarette Smith, grandchildren; Jacob Sluder and Danielle Garcia, siblings; Karl Mattlage, Patricia Long, Mark Mattlage-Thurmond and Fred Mattlage, her faithful pet companion; Gabe and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
