

As a young man he even joined a troop of Sea Scouts and helped lead a canoe trip from Waco to the Gulf of Mexico. Upon graduating from McGregor High School, "Pete" enlisted in the United States Navy with seven of his closest childhood friends from McGregor.
While in the U.S. Navy he served honorably as a Boiler Tender aboard the U.S.S. Gatling, a Destroyer in the Pacific during the Korean War Conflict. He made at least one "World Tour" aboard the "Gatling."
After the Navy he had a successful career at Maxwell House in Houston, TX. He retired after thirty plus years from General Foods as the Supervisor of the Minute Rice Department.
Pete was an avid outdoorsman and would hunt, fish and camp when he could. He shared this passion with his four sons Kenneth, David, Steven and Kevin. His sons would go on to share this passion with their children.
He is preceded in death by his parents; 4 siblings, Alton, Farris, John and Ruth Ann Reeves; and wife, Geraldine “Jerry” Reeves.
Survivors include his sister, Elma Cledyth “Pat” Fehler; sons, Kenneth Reeves, David Reeves, Steven Doriocourt and Kevin Doriocourt; step-children, David Allison, Brenda Witt, Deidri Oliver, Mary Ann Williams and all of their children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Kayla, Jeremie, Daniel, Trevor, Joel, Sophia, Amy, Clint, and Erin and great grandchildren Sydnee-Lynn, Michael Paul.
A memorial service will be held 3:00p.m., Saturday, January 21, at Cole Funeral Home in McGregor, Texas.
