

Rosemary Standridge of Oglesby, died Tuesday, November 20, 2012, at the age of 75. Funeral services will 2:00 P.M. Saturday, November 24, 2012, at First Baptist Church of Oglesby with Rev. Rich Lubbers and Rev. Aaron Tyler officiating. Interment will follow in Post Oak Cemetery under the direction of Cole Funeral Home, 1113 West Fifth Street, McGregor. Visitation will be 6 to 8 P.M. Friday at Cole Funeral Home.
Mrs. Standridge was born February 20, 1937, in Norman, Arkansas, the daughter of the late Solon Emerson and Paralee (Wilson) Sloan where she was a 1955 graduate of Norman High School. She later continued her education at Hill Jr. College in Hillsboro where she earned an associate’s degree in 1965. On September 16, 1956, she married Olen Allen Standridge in Norman, Arkansas. After forty-three years of marriage, he preceded her in death April 1, 2000.
Rosemary enjoyed children and was the director at Oaklawn Baptist Day Care in Bellmead during the 1970s. She later operated Rosemary’s Kids Daycare at her home in Oglesby for several years. She was an active member of First Baptist Church of Oglesby where she was music leader, Sunday School Teacher, assisted with Vacation Bible School and served as a mentor to many young pastors. She was also a member of Bible Study Fellowship in Waco where she served as a greeter. She also enjoyed scrapbooking and being the perfect hostess when she entertained.
Also preceding her in death were two sisters, Inez Mitchell and Annalee Vann.
Survivors include five children: daughters Toni Standridge of Oglesby and Brenda Kaye Adams and husband Randy of Midlothian. Sons include Stacy Allen Standridge and wife Sherry of Oglesby, Yancy Sloan Standridge of Georgetown, Joseph Shea Standridge and wife Ginger of Waxahachie; a sister, Opal Samuel of Fredericksburg, Virginia. Eight grandchildren: Kat Adams; Rose, Coy, Beth and Ryan Standridge; Kenna, Cooper and Andi Standridge.
