Barbara Stewart Bond

She was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Robert Bond, Jr.; her parents, Robert and Pearl Stewart; her sister, Josephine Sandy; and her brother, Robert Stewart.

She is survived by her children, Harriet Foutz (Wally), Barry Bond, Karen Murtha, and Joey Bond (Wendy); grandchildren, Julia Foutz (Kirk), Tanner Foutz, Lauren Murtha, Ryan Murtha, Ashley Bond, and Garrett Bond; great-grandchildren, Knolan Foutz and Gavin Ramon; sister, Betty Beasley (B.F.); brother, Richard Stewart (Barbara); and numerous nieces and nephews.

Barbara was a graduate of Radford High School, Radford, Virginia, and retired as an administrative assistant at Site-Blauvelt Engineers. She was a member of Cool Spring Baptist Church. Barbara enjoyed playing sports and games in her youth and later enjoyed attending her grandchildren’s activities. She was a wonderful cook and especially enjoyed baking for family and friends. Barbara also enjoyed sewing, crocheting, ceramics, scrapbooking, and spending time with her family. She was also an avid reader and especially enjoyed reading about history.

A private graveside service will be held for immediate family at Signal Hill Memorial Park.
