Gertrude DeLena Martin, 92, of Richmond, Va. passed away on September 29,2013. She was born to the late DeLoss and Annie Dawson on July 17, 1921 in Richmond, Va. Gertrude worked as a supervisor for Bell Atlantic and was a member of Northside Baptist Church. Gertrude was preceded in death by her beloved husband Bernard St .Clair Martin. She is survived by her sister Hilda D. Taylor and numerous nieces and nephews and their families.
There will be an open visitation on October 1, 2013 from 1:00 -5:00 pm with the family receiving friends from 5:00 to 7:00pm at the Woody Funeral Home, Atlee Chapel, 9271 Shady Grove Rd, Mechanicsville , VA 23116. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, October 2, 2013 at 1:00pm at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Richmond. The family requests in lieu of flowers donations be made to your favorite charity .
