He was preceded in death by his parents, Moses W. Nunnally, Sr. and Rosa Lee Hudgins Nunnally; a brother, Moses W. Nunnally, Jr.; and a sister, Mary N. Brooks. Mr. Nunnally is survived by his wife of 73 years, Eleanor Gillie Nunnally; a son, J. C. Nunnally (Brenda); a daughter, Debbie N. Boatwright; grandchildren, Heather Buffkin (Tim), James W. Nunnally, II (Amber), Johnny Boatwright, and Greg Owens (Laurie); great-grandchildren, McKenna, Tanner, Kate, Jack, Ellie, Timothy, Lexi and Reilly.
Jimmy was a member of the Henrico County Board of Zoning Appeals for 40 consecutive years, serving as Vice Chairman and Chairman on several occasions. He was a member of New Bridge Baptist Church for 72 years, serving on many committees and was Chairman of the Deacons several times. He was a member of Babcock Masonic Lodge and Scottish Rites Body of Richmond. Jimmy was a World War II veteran and served in the Pacific with the U. S. Navy and participated in the invasion of Iwo Jima.

The family will receive friends 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, April 30, 2021, at the Atlee Chapel, Woody Funeral Home, 9271 Shady Grove Rd. in Mechanicsville. A graveside service will be conducted 3 p.m. Saturday, May 1, 2021, at Forest Lawn Cemetery Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to New Bridge Baptist Church, 5701 Elko Rd., Sandston, Va. 23150.
