Janet Haynes Barfield

Janet Haynes Barfield, 78, of Mechanicsville, passed away on Wednesday, July 7, 2021. She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Eddra Haynes; brothers, Richard and Emerson Haynes; and sister, Zola May Silvernail. Janet graduated from Bradford High School in Bradford, Pennsylvania in 1961 and was a member of of Beta Sigma Phi for 50 years. She was a world traveler, slot machine junky and loved adventure. Family and friends meant the world to her, she worried about everyone she knew and always wanted to help make their lives happier. Known to be a jokester, her laughter and fun nature will be missed. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Alan Kroh and Paula Wagner; grandchildren, Ashley Olshanski, Christopher Wagner, Alan Kroh Jr., and Tamara Roberts; 6 great-grandchildren; sister, Sallie Taylor; many nieces and nephews as well as many cousins. The family will receive friends from 12pm to 2pm on Saturday, July 10, 2021 at Woody Funeral Home- Atlee, 9271 Shady Grove Rd, Mechanicsville, VA 23116, where a funeral service will begin at 2pm.
