Linda Eggleston Goggin, after an extended battle with lung cancer left this world for her eternal life on January 19, 2011. She is survived by her daughter, Christina Goggin and husband, Matthew Stafford; granddaughter, Anya Stafford; her sister, Lois Tunstall and husband, Dorsey Tunstall; several nieces and nephews; and Edmund "Penn" Goggin, ex-husband. Linda enjoyed her home in the country, talking with friends over a good cup of coffee, riding motorcycles and was a lifetime member of the Harley Owners Group (HOG). She joined friends regularly at FastMart for the Wednesday evening coffee club. One of her greatest joys was the birth of her granddaughter, Anya and the time she has been able to spend with her since her birth. "Bup", as she was known to Anya, always made sure to have a new surprise for her granddaughter every time they met. She was also preceded in this world by her companion and friend "Minni", a miniature pincher, Jack Russell terrier. Linda retired from Phillip Morris with over 33 years of service in both Transmissions and Quality Control. In the last few years since her retirement, she made several trips to the Caribbean both with her sister and her daughter, enjoying the warm sun and cool waters it offers. Linda will be missed by friends and family alike. There will be a memorial service at Woody Funeral Home, Atlee Chapel, 9271 Shady Grove Road, Mechanicsville, Va. 23116 at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, January 26, 2011. A "Celebration of Life" will take place immediately after the memorial service at Wyndham Virginia Crossings, 1000 Virginia Center Parkway, Glen Allen, Va. 23059. In lieu of flowers, please consider a gift to the American Lung Association, South Atlantic Division Inc., P.O. Box 429, Richmond, Va. 23218-0429.
