

JONES, Louise Ragland died peacefully in her sleep in Phoenix, Arizona, on September 15, 2014, at the age of 87. She was a long time resident of Mechanicsville and had relocated to Arizona due to health problems. Louise is survived by her son, Roger L. Clark, Sr. (Kris) of Phoenix; grandchildren, Roger, Jr. (Christen), Kimberly, Zachery, and Jackson; great-grandchildren, Joshua, Kendall and Raven; and her sister, Christine Ragland of Glenmore, Va. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her first husband, Mercer L. Clark; and her second husband, L. Charles Jones. Louise was born in Buckingham, Va. to Lightfoot and Leila Ragland. She left Buckingham and went to Richmond where she went to work for C & P Telephone Co., which later became AT&T. She retired as a manager at AT&T after 42 years of service. Louise was a generous individual who loved helping others and she had a beautiful, contagious, unforgettable smile. She was an active and dedicated member of the Order of the Eastern Star and the Richmond East Moose Lodge/WOTM Chapter 1543 where she served as Senior Regent. Her remains rest at the Atlee Chapel of Woody Funeral Home, 9271 Shady Grove Road, where the family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday with an Order of Eastern Star Service at 6:30 p.m. and Women of the Moose ceremony at 7 p.m., and where a funeral service officiated by her niece, Pastor Berry R. Parrish, will be at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday. Interment will follow at Washington Memorial Park in Sandston. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Louise’s life.
