He is survived by his beloved daughters, Janet G. Daughtry (Daryl) and Carol G Von Herbulis (Stewart); granddaughters Lauren Burgwyn (Drew) and Taylor Titus (Logan); great grandchildren Adelyn and Bennett Burgwyn, Jackson and Sadie Titus.
After growing up on a farm near Georgetown SC, Bill served as a sergeant in the army during WWII, later marrying his sweetheart and helpmate Hazel Nesmith, in 1946. Together, they worked and reared their family with love in Richmond, VA, where they were members of Chamberlayne Baptist Church.
Highly motivated throughout his life, Bill began his professional career in the steel industry before founding Virginia Galvanizing Co. in Ashland, where he implemented his centrifuge invention,"Spin a Batch", which is still marketed in the industry today. Even in his nineties, when Bill wasn't designing equipment, he was reading about technology, thinking about ways to solve problems in business, which led to the book he wrote, '99 And Still in Business'.
Cherished by his family, Bill, Daddy, Granddaddy or "Uncle Bull Bull", was known for his generosity, his sense of humor and his love of children. He considered family one of God's greatest blessings. We consider Bill Garrison, one of ours.
