Jack Daniel Moad passed away September 18, 2017. He was born August 2, 1958 to proud parents, Jack Sr. and Beverly Ann in Medford, Oregon. He was a big baby, weighing in at 10 lbs. and 22 inches long. He was known to his family as Dad, Jack, Jackie or Uncle Jack. He grew up in Southern Oregon, and had also lived in various cities throughout the state. His happiest memories were when he lived in Grants Pass, where he was captain of his football team and class president. He finished his education at Medford Senior High School graduating in 1976. After working in a few other fields, Jack finally found his niche in the lumber business. His brother-in-law, Ken Ghiz was taking a new position in Spokane, Washington at a lumber company, and informed them that he would only come if they hired Jack too. Ken would train the rookie, who quickly became very successful. After only a few short years, Jack became one of the best lumber brokers out there, cultivating many friendships that he cherished. In 1989, he and Tracy moved to Portland, Oregon where he continued his lumber career for many years. One of the biggest joys in Jack's life came when his beautiful daughter, Taylor, was born. Jack had many talents. He was extremely athletic. He played football, baseball, and was an excellent golfer. He was also a very gifted musician, and artistic as well. He taught himself at an early age to play guitar, he learned to play any song just by listening to it. The world lost one of its most cherished and beloved souls. His wit, charm, compassion, and genuine character will be missed by all who were blessed to know him. Psalm 18:16-19 He reached down from on high and took hold of me; He drew me out of deep waters. He rescued me from my powerful enemy, from my foes, who were to strong for me. They confronted me in the day of my disaster, but the Lord was my support. He brought me out into a spacious place; He rescued me because He delighted in me. He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Tracy; his daughter, Taylor; his father, Jack Moad Sr.; his sister, Diane Ghiz; his nephew and niece, Nicholas and Brianne Ghiz. He was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Beverly Ann; his grandparents, Arthur and Twyla Maggenti and John and Esther Moad. Please join us for Jack's memorial service at 11:00 a.m. December 16, 2017 at Athey Creek Christian Fellowship, 2700 SW Ek Rd., West Linn, OR 97068.
