Kevin Gene Tollefson

Born on February 18, 1969, in Medford, Oregon, Kevin grew up with a strong sense of dedication and perseverance. He graduated from North Medford High School in the Class of 1987 before continuing his education at the Oregon Institute of Technology, where he earned his degree in 1992. His commitment to learning led him to further his studies, achieving an MBA from Southern Oregon University in 2010. Kevin built a successful career as a mill manager in the wood products manufacturing industry. His leadership and expertise were well respected by colleagues and peers alike.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Kevin was known for his unwavering dedication to family and community. A devoted husband, Kevin shared 24 wonderful years with his wife, Carol Tollefson. He was a loving father to Justin Rudy, Garrett Rudy, Elias Tollefson, and Madison Tollefson. He is also survived by his mother, Barbara "Diane" Tollefson; sisters Melissa McGee and Kristin Shadowlight (Simon); and many others who cherished him deeply. He was preceded in death by his father, Dennis Tollefson, as well as his grandparents Freeman & Viola Tollefson and Vera & Raino Mattila.

Kevin had a deep passion for coaching youth shotgun teams. His enthusiasm for the sport and commitment to mentoring young athletes made him a respected coach and role model. His spirited humor, generosity, and love for those around him left an indelible mark on everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.

Two celebrations of life will be held in Kevin’s honor. The first will take place on April 19, 2025, at Madras Rod & Gun Club (2353 NW Clackamas Dr., Madras, OR 97741) from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM following a youth team fundraiser—an event close to Kevin’s heart. The second celebration will be held on April 26, 2025, at The Riverhouse (7710 Rogue River Drive, Shady Cove, OR 97539) from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM.

Kevin’s legacy lives on through the lives he touched with his kindness and dedication. May his memory bring comfort to all who knew him.
