Thomas Dean Fredericks

Thomas Dean "Tom" Fredericks, 64, passed away Saturday, January 23, 2016 with his family by his side at his home. He was born March 7, 1951 in Lynwood, Calif. to Bobby Ray and Beverly Jean (Talbert) Fredericks. He was one of four sons. In 1972 Tom moved to Medford, Ore. to begin work as a drywall stocker. He later started his career in the construction and building trade, becoming skilled in all aspects of drywall. Tom began his drywall business that flourished by word-of-mouth - he esteemed a quality finished job for his customers and continued his drywall specialty for 37 years. Tom married Charlotte Pagni of Grants Pass, Ore. in 1976. They had two children, a son, Harley Fredericks and a daughter, Kristen Fredericks. Tom had a love for Harley-Davidson motorcycles. He began building his first Harley-Davidson when he was 17 years old and continued building and restoring Harleys throughout his life. His other passions were fishing, ocean fishing, hunting, camping, boating, golfing, and restoring cars. In his earlier years he participated in several champion pool tournaments. Additionally, Tom enjoyed cooking and canning. He was quite artistic and took pleasure in painting with oils. He was very creative and a Jack-of-all-trades. He was always drawn to the joys of children. Tom's true nature was kindness, fairness, and generosity; he valued respect and was a fun and humorous guy. Although Tom had his own set of struggles, he gave his heart to the Lord in 1993 and he appreciated learning about the Word of God. The times that he was able to spend with his children and grandchildren were very special to him. He is survived by Charlotte Fredericks of Medford, Ore.; his son, Harley Fredericks of Medford, Ore.; daughter, Kristen Fredericks of Central Point, Ore.; three grandsons, Jayden, Gauge, and Bentley; brother, Gary Fredericks of Myrtle Creek, Ore.; uncle, Bob Talbert of Cascade Locks, Ore.; and several special nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bobby Ray (1969) and Beverly Jean Fredericks (2010); his youngest brother, David Fredericks (1995); brother, Steven Fredericks (2005); grandmother, Irene Johnson (1989); grandmother, Vera McDonough (2000); and his uncle, James L. Fredericks (2015.) We deeply miss Tom's presence with us here on earth.
