Joan M Filarowski

Born on May 24, 1932 in Batavia, NY, she was the daughter of the late Lewis and Dorothea (Henzler) Scheinder.

She married the late Richard Filarowski Sr. on December 29, 1951 and together they made their home in Medina raising seven children.

Joan was employed with the former S.A. Cook and lastly retired from Fisher-Price of Medina. She enjoyed crocheting, reading and was a avid bingo player.

Joan is survived by seven children, Pat Wolfe of Albion; Richard (Karen) Filarowski of Rochester; Stephen (Sonja) Filarowski of Amherst; William C. Filarowski of Medina; Lawrence (Sandy) Filarowski of Lyndonville; James Filarowski of Germany and Robert (Michelle) Filarowski of Rochester; Nine grandchildren; nine and a half great-grandchildren; three siblings; Thelma Stawiki and Edward Scheinder, both of Medina and Dorothea Scheinder of Deland, FL. and many nieces and nephews.

Joan is predeceased by a great-grandson, Tristan.

Relatives and friends may call on Wednesday evening at the Bates & Tuttle Funeral Home, 226 Pearl St. Medina, NY from 5 PM- 8 PM, where a funeral service will be held on Thursday, 11:00 AM with the Rev. Neal Samborski officiating. Burial will be in the St. Mary’s Cemetery, Medina.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Joan’s name to the Medina Hospital Foundation, 200 Ohio St. Medina, NY 14103.
