John Stawicki

Born on November 4, 1927 in the Town of Shelby, he was the son of the late Joseph and Bertha (Konopa) Stawicki.

John was the proud owner and operator of the former “Stawicki Provision” working as a butcher and retired in 1996 to his farm in Shelby.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Thelma (Schneider) Stawicki. Six children: Joseph (Donna) Stawicki of Medina, Katherine (Allen) Johnson of N. Carolina; Robert (Kim) Stawicki of Medina; Sandy Balschmiter (Bob Chase) of Middleport; Ann (Robert) Riggle of Medina and Laurie (Walt) Klatt of N. Carolina. He is also survived by three sisters and a brother: Mary (Richard) Garrett of Iowa; Theresa (George) White of New Jersey; Elizabeth (Michael) Ferri and Thomas (Bettie Jean) Stawicki of Medina.

John is also survived by 21 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-child and his faithful dog “Joey.”

He is predeceased by a sister, Josephine Boudreau, 3 brothers, Vincent, Walter, and Anthony and two grandsons, Michael Pries and Robert Klatt.

Relatives and friends may call on Friday, November 9, 2012 from 5- 8 PM at the Bates & Tuttle Funeral Home, 226 Pearl St. Medina, NY, where a Funeral Service will be held Saturday, 11:00 AM with the Fr. Daniel J. Fawls officiating. Burial will be in the Mount Pleasant Cemetery.
