Margaret E. Lonnen

Margaret was born at home, in Millville, on March 18, 1922 to late John N. and Lucy Thaine. She attended school at the Millville Academy for 8 years and graduated from Medina High School in 1940.

She married Homer H. Lonnen on December 27, 1941 and they lived most of their married life in Millville. After his death on March 31, 1996, she moved to Lakewood Village in Medina.

Margaret was a member of the Rebekah Lodge since January 1945 and was the last surviving original member of the East Shelby Volunteer Fire Co. Ladies Auxiliary that was organized in 1953. She also attended Millville Methodist Church.

She is survived by two sons, Donald L. and Dale H. Lonnen; four grandchildren, Kip (Andrea) Lonnen, David (late Jennifer) Lonnen, Deborah (Jeffery) Grimes, and Jessica Thomas; six great-grandchildren, Hannah, Dylan and Maggie Lonnen and Brandon, Alexandrea and Victoria Grimes.

In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her sister, Arlene Watson on September 6, 2008.

Relatives and friends may call from 5-9 PM on Thursday, October 3, 2013 at the Bates & Tuttle Funeral Home, 226 Pearl St. Medina.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, October 4, 2013 at the Millville Cemetery with the Rev. Kim Smith officiating.
