It is with great sadness that Margaret and Ray Bryant announce the sudden passing of their beloved son, Alan, in Memphis, Tennessee with his brother, Michael, by his side. He suffered an aortic dissection and heart attack and succumbed to a stroke four days later. He is survived in Victoria, BC by his parents and by his sister, Janine Roy (Bob) and nephew, Matt Roy and his niece and God-daughter, Hayley Roy. In Toronto he is survived by his brother, Michael (Susan) and niece and nephew, Sadie and Louis Bryant. Alan’s dream was to have a career in basketball management and he achieved his dream, starting with the Vancouver Grizzlies at GM Place and later with the Memphis Grizzlies at FedExForum. He was especially honored to be chosen to work at the 2010 Olympics in Vancouver, where he managed the hockey venue at Canada Hockey Place. He was living the life he loved and making a positive difference in the world. Alan was a blessing and a joy to his family for all of his 39 years. Everyone who knew Alan loved him and he will be sadly missed by many friends, both in Victoria and in Memphis. There will be a Celebration of Life at FedExForum in Opus Restaurant on Saturday, June 18th at 6:00pm. Please enter through the parking garage entrance on P-1.
