Barbara Ruth McLellan, age 91, of Bartlett, Tennessee, formerly of Franklin, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 27, 2022. Barbara was born March 26, 1931, in Potsdam, New York, to Bernard Austin and Mayfred Rockwood Austin.
Barbara retired from Nationwide Insurance and was a lifelong member of the United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women. She spent her last months in Memphis enjoying the company of her relatives and friends, especially her granddaughter.
She is survived by her children, Kevin McLellan (Donna) and Keith McLellan (Melissa); grandchildren, Ryan Pamplin, Will Pamplin, and Kathleen McLellan; son-in-law, Christopher Pamplin; siblings, Jack Austin (Jane), Virginia Morrow (Robert), and Paul Austin (Joan); and many nieces and nephews. Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, William B. McLellan; daughter, Karen Pamplin; and siblings, Alice Derosia, Oliver Austin, and Kenneth Austin.
The family will receive friends at a visitation on Friday, September 2 from 5:00 until 7:00 PM, at Memphis Funeral Home, 5599 Poplar Avenue, Memphis, TN 38119. A funeral service celebrating her life will be held on Saturday, September 3 at 10:00 AM, at the funeral home. She will be laid to rest with her husband at West Tennessee Veterans Cemetery, at a later date.
