Betty Jean Wiley Herrle

Betty Jean Wiley Herrle passed away peacefully on September 29, 2017 at her home at Heritage at Irene Woods surrounded by family. She was born in Iuka, MS on January 11, 1931. She moved to Memphis at the age of 19. It was here that she met her husband, Albert W. Herrle of Pittsburg, PA.

Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Albert W. Herrle, her parents, Web and Eula Wiley, her brothers, Billy Wiley and Jackie Wiley, and her sister, Barbara Waddey.

She is survived by her children, Linda Herrle and Phil (Terrie) Herrle, grandchildren, Brad (Jocelyn) Hastings and Kim (Rusty) Owens, great-grandchildren, Shelby, Zach, Daniel, Haley, Jaxon, Elijah, Tatum, Christian, Aubree, and Kailynn.

Betty retired from HLF Inns as Purchasing Director. She was a member of First Evangelical Church.

The family would like to thank Heritage at Irene Woods for the love and care they have given Betty for the past few years along with the kindness and support offered the family in her last days and to Avalon Hospice for their compassionate care during her last days.

Visitation will be Sunday, October 1, from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm and the funeral will be Monday, October 2, at 10:00 am all at Memphis Funeral Home on Poplar. Burial will be at Memorial Park on Poplar following the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to JDRF, West Tennessee Chapter (506 Halle Park Drive, Suite 101, Collierville, TN 38017) or the Alzheimer's Association.
