

He was a masonry foreman and very active in his church community. He is a member of The Pentecostal Church, a former board member at Calvary UPC and Byhalia UPC. He was a band member at Calvary UPC where he also sang in the choir. He played in the band at the First United Pentecostal Church located in Memphis, where he played the saxophone. He sang in a quartet at Byhalia UPC and the Byhalia United Pentecostal Church was started out of Mr. Permenter’s living room and is still an active United Pentecostal Church in Byhalia MS.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 43 years Willie Mae Permenter and by a granddaughter Brenda Lynn Haley.
He is survived by Miriam Permenter; by two daughters, Carol Jean (Jerry) Haley; Vicki Lynn (David) Dunwoody; one son William Terrell (Susan) Permenter; three brothers, Kenneth E Permenter, Daryl G Permenter and Aubrey Glenn Permenter; by seven grandchildren, Christie, Dustin, Nerissa, Johnathan, Amber, Amanda and Will and by four great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Friday, December 20, 2013 from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Memphis Funeral Home, Poplar Chapel. A funeral service will be held Saturday December 21, 2013 at The Pentecostal Church, 4820 Germantown Road. Interment will follow at Memphis Memory Gardens on Raleigh-LaGrange.
