One of 9 children, Carolyn was born to Bessie and Fred Uzzle Sr on June 18, 1946. Raised on the banks of the Mississippi River where her father was a fisherman and crop duster, her mother a homemaker, she grew up learning hardships and the values of hard work. As children they were making fishing nets, picking pecans to sell and other jobs to help feed their large family. Carolyn went into restaurant hospitality industry and was much adored by her customers as well as other employees. She always loved making others happy.
Her husband's include John Fales, Joe Lacy, and Richard Fraser. Her fiancé Don Eagle passed away last year. Preceded in death are siblings Lois, JoCarol, Harry, Jerry, Steve, George, Wayne and her father and mother. Her father and brothers George and Wayne were fishing in the Mississippi River when they went missing. They were never found.
Survivors include brother Fred Uzzle Jr. Of Vicksburg , her niece and nephew Carol McNeil of Nesbit and Wayne Henson of Brookhaven Ms. And niece Tammy Fields of Jackson Ms. Along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Carolyn's memorial services will start with the wake on Thursday, June 24th from 5pm to 7pm, the funeral is on Friday, June 25th at 10am all at Memphis Funeral Home on Poplar Avenue. Burial services will be in Crystal Springs MS at Old Crystal Springs Cemetery on Saturday, June 26th at 12:30. Her family is very thankful to all who had a hand in taking care of her during her illness.
