
Carolyn Gay, 88, of Memphis, passed away January 26, 2013. Born in Little Rock, AR on February 16, 1924, Carolyn became a resident of Memphis, and she married William B. Gay, Jr. in 1946, who was a former pilot of a B-17 in the 8th Air Force in England during World War II. She was a communicant of the former Christ Episcopal Church in Whitehaven, serving several years as President of the Women of the Church. Carolyn also served 2 years as President of the former Agenda Club of Whitehaven, a social and philanthropic club. Mrs. Gay was preceded in death by her husband, William. She is survived by a daughter, Carol (Jerry) Craig of Memphis; a son, Billy Gay of Memphis; four granddaughters, Melissa (Macon) Moore of Southaven, MS, Sarah (Nick) Sinquefield of Southaven, Allison Gay of Germantown, and Lauren Gay of Nashville; two great granddaughters, Emma Germano and Stella Sinquefield; and a great grandson, Eli Moore. Graveside services will be held today, Monday, January 28, at 3:30 p.m. in Memorial Park Cemetery.
