Carter James Trefz, age 18, was tragically taken from us on Friday, May 27, 2022. He was born February 20, 2004, in Germantown, Tennessee, to Julio James Trefz and Kim Pruitt. He attended Germantown Elementary School and Houston Middle School. He had just graduated from Houston High School.
Carter was active in Mixed Martial Arts and loved wrestling for the Houston Mustangs. He also enjoyed playing rugby for the Germantown Mustang Rugby Team. Carter was a very hands-on, adventurous young man who loved spending time with family and friends. He never met a stranger and lived life to the fullest.
Carter was preceded in death by his maternal great-grandfather, John Billy Porter and his paternal great-grandparents, Otis and Florence Winters and Henry & Hilda Trefz. He is survived by his father, Julio James Trefz; mother, Kim Pruitt (Tom); brother, Lawson Gage Trefz; sister, Brianna Marie Trefz; step-siblings, Jordan McKay Loveless, Madison Leanne Pritchett, and Thomas Walker Pruitt; maternal grandparents, Cynthia Crocker and Ray Austin; paternal grandparents, Harlin and Noreen Trefz; maternal great-grandmother, Martha Porter; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Carter’s life on Monday, June 6 at Memphis Funeral Home, 5599 Poplar Avenue, Memphis, TN. Visitation will be held from 9:00-11:00 AM and the memorial service will immediately follow at 11:00 AM.
