Catherine Louise Federico Ferguson

Catherine L. Federico Ferguson age 90 passed away Thursday May 24,2011 at Ave Maria Home in Bartlett, TN. Catherine was born in Memphis, TN on December 6th 1921 and was one of ten children born to the late Augustino and Maria Federico. She was preceded in death by her husband Allen Ferguson who was a retired Lieutenant with the Memphis Fire Department. Catherine known by many as Kitty or Kitten and to nieces and nephews as Aunt KK was a loving and caring person and a devout catholic. She worked for 1st TN Bank for over 30 years retiring in the mid 1980's. Catherine grew up in the pinch district where her parents settled after immigrating from Italy in the early 1900's. She attended St. Patrick's school and attended St Mary's and later St. Michael’s Catholic Church. Catherine leaves behind many nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews too many to mention. She also leaves behind one surviving sister Mrs. Jill Federico Talley of Cordova and her great niece and caregiver Caralena Lawrence of Bartlett, TN and her nephew and caregiver Larry A. Godwin of Nashville, TN. The family request in lieu of flowers to donate to Ave Maria Home. Burial will take place Wednesday May 30, 2012 at Calvary Cemetery following a 2 p.m. mass at the chapel of Ave Maria. There will be visitation at Memphis Funeral Home Poplar Chapel on Tuesday May 29, 2012 from 5:30 p.m. till 7 p.m. followed by the rosary service at 7 p.m. Her family would like to extend their appreciation and thanks to the staff of Ave Maria Home for their care of Kitty.
