

C.B. Vickrey, Jr. of Germantown, TN passed away Thursday, January 24, 2013 of complications from Parkinson's disease. He was born September 4, 1930 to C.B. and Laura Mae Bass Vickrey in Huxford, AL. He graduated from Auburn University School of Engineering in 1952 then served in the US Airforce as First Lieutenant. After serving as plant manager at various paper mills, he retired from International Paper Company after 40 years of service. He was a lifetime member of the Community of Christ Church, serving as an ordained Evangelist.
In retirement he pursued his passions of spending time with his grandchildren, serving his church, and riding and showing horses. He drew immense pleasure from his many warm friendships.
A loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather, he is survived by his wife Vivian Reynolds Vickrey (always "My Bride") his adored and adoring wife of 58 years, three children; David Vickrey (Gary Ensana) of New York, NY, Jeannie Radcliff (Greg) of Mansfield, TX, and C.B. Vickrey III, of Germantown, TN and four grandchildren, Bethany and Jordan Radcliff of Mansfield, TX and Colin and Carson Vickrey of Collierville, TN.
He felt blessed to have grown up on a farm in a large, loving family with eight siblings; Ardieth Vickrey and Winnogene Edem who pre-deceased him, Graydon Vickrey of Smithville, MS, Cathryn Gilbert of Panama City, FL, Laura Vickrey of Mobile, AL, Jack Vickrey (Marcia) of Mobile, AL, Elizabeth Barbour (Richard) of Mobile, AL and Lanelle Bell (Gene) of Macon, GA.
Visitation will be held Monday, January 28th 2013, 10:00 - 12:00 at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens on Poplar Ave. A Memorial service will directly follow at 12:00 pm in the chapel.
