Cecilia Theresa Berner

Cecilia Theresa Berner, died peacefully on November, 19, 2015 at the age of 98. She was born in Foglesville, Pa on November 1, 1917 to Albert and Frances (Kovatch) Weiss and was one of five girls. Her husband, Frank J. Berner, whom she married September 18, 1947 passed away December 4 1998. Cecilia was a lifelong resident of Whitehall, Pa until 1998 when she moved to Kirby Pines Retirement Community in Memphis, TN to be near her only daughter, Sharon and her family. At Kirby Pines she enjoyed various card games, bingo and was a regular attendee of the Catholic Communion Group. Cecilia will always be lovingly remembered by her daughter, Sharon (Carl) Schulter of Germantown, her two grandsons, David (Amanda) Schulter of Memphis, Drew (Rebecca) Schulter of Memphis and great-granddaughter, Elliott Schulter. There will be a memorial service on Tuesday, December 1 at 11 a.m. in the chapel at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church in Germantown, TN where friends may call one hour prior to the service. The family would like to extend a "heartfelt thank you" to Pat Ester, Cecilia's longtime caregiver for the kindness and care given to her and to Crossroads Hospice. Memorials may be sent to Birthright of Memphis or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
