Chandrika C. Purohit

Chandrika Purohit, 66, of Memphis, TN, formerly of South Brunswick, NJ died peacefully in her sleep on December 9, 2016 at 3:44am, at Baptist Reynolds Hospice Home. Born July 6, 1950, in Nairobi, Kenya she was blessed to have had an opportunity to move to America in the 1980's and settle down with her family in New Jersey, and eventually retire in Memphis, TN as of 2013.

Chandrika was a Corporate Travel Agent with American Express and Hickory Travel in the New Jersey area for over 45 years and enjoyed speaking and helping her corporate and celebrity clients with their plans. She enjoyed cooking, traveling, Indian songs and movies, and spending time with her friends and family, especially her 3 dear grandchildren. Chandrika fought a long and hard battle with breast cancer for many years, but was finally blessed with a chance to rest and be whole again with the Almighty this December.

Survivors include her husband of 42 years, Chandrakant Purohit, her only daughter, Chetna Macwan of Monroeville, NJ married to Noel Macwan, and her 3 grandchildren Kiran Macwan, Leila Macwan and Shaan Macwan. Also her sisters Jashu Bhatt, Champa Dave, Bharti Pandya, and Harsha Pandya, and her brother, Vijay Pandya. Niece is Bhavna Khalifa and Nephews Ajay Bhatt and Sanjay Dave.
