Former Memphis resident Chris Demopoulos, age 83, passed away in Knoxville, Tennessee on August 4, 2018 after a brief illness. Chris owned and operated Nick's Coffee Shop on Union Avenue in downtown Memphis. He was also a former employee of Shelby County Register of Deeds and Sam's Club in Knoxville. Chris graduated in 1952 from Southside High School. He was a member of The Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church in Memphis as well as past president of the parish. He was preceded in death by his wife, Eleni Demopoulos; parents, Nick and Demitra Demopoulos; brother, Jimmy Damon; and brother-in-law, Art Wasserman. He is survived by a daughter, Demitra Keramidas; grandchildren, Kalliope Andreas and Marina Keramidas; sister, Maria Wasserman; sister-in-law, Marilyn Damon; nieces, Dana Damon-Trentadue (Bartolo) and Alexa Damon-Soegaard (Juan); and a great nephew a niece.
Calling hours will be Wednesday, August 8, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at The Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church with funeral to follow at 11:00 AM. Interment will be at Memorial Park Cemetery.
