David Carter Boyd, 80 year old lifelong Memphian, died on Saturday, December 29, 2018. David was born on October 23, 1938 the last surviving son of the late Charlie & Emma Kate Boyd. He graduated from Southside High School, class of 1956. He served briefly in the United States Navy before his forty five year career began at NAPA. He was a twenty year member of Kirby Woods Baptist Church. Family and friends will gather on Wednesday, January 2, from 6:30pm - 8:30pm and funeral services will be Thursday, January 3 beginning at 10:00 a.m. all at Memphis Funeral Home, 5599 Poplar, Memphis, TN 38119. The service will be led by David Love and Celebrant Jonathan Matthews. David was also preceded in death by his daughter Deanna Boyd Knight and his three siblings. He is survived by his wife of 48 years Martha Boyd, two daughters Angie (Todd) White and Alecia (John) Marley; and five grandchildren.
