David Allen Rogers passed away peacefully at his home on August 7, 2018 at the age of 76. David Rogers, the son of Raymond & Virginia Langston Rogers, was born March 4, 1942 in Memphis, Tennessee. He grew up in Calhoun City, Mississippi and graduated from Calhoun City High School in 1960. Mr. Rogers moved to Memphis, Tennessee upon completion of basic training from the Mississippi National Guard where he was recognized as the Trainee of the Year. He was a firefighter for the City of Memphis for 33 years, retiring in 2001. He was also self-employed as the owner of Rogers Roofing for many years. Mr. Rogers was an avid golfer and bicyclist and loved to play pool. On November 17, 2001 he married Rebecca Osborne Rogers, who survives. He is also survived by his two daughters, Alison Rogers Phillips and Megan Rogers Brewer and husband Jason, his sister Raymona Rogers James, his brother Langston Rogers and wife Paula, and four grandchildren Katie Brewer, Gavin Phillips, Emma Brewer, and Grayson Phillips. Family will gather with friends for fellowship and refreshments on Sunday, August 12th from 10 am till his service begins at 12 pm at Family Funeral Care, 4925 Summer Ave. Burial will follow at 3:30 pm in Calhoun City Cemetery, Calhoun City, MS.
