Known to most as Debbie or Mrs. Debbie, she lived her faith through quiet strength, kindness, and a heart for others. She was a longtime member of Mission Church and served for several years in the preschool ministry. She trusted God fully and expressed His love in the way she cared for everyone around her. Debbie’s life was a reflection of steadfast faith and selfless devotion.
Debbie worked alongside her husband, Steven, at Blackwell’s Carpet from 1981 until their semi-retirement. Together, they built not only a successful business, but a life grounded in dedication, faith, and family.
She was the heart of her family—the glue who held everyone together. Debbie gave endlessly of herself. She had a quiet way of making people feel cared for, often without saying much at all.
Debbie is preceded in death by her father Billy Clayton and brother-in-law Caesar Gomez. She is survived by her loving husband of 46 years, Steven Blackwell; her daughters, Jennifer Ragland and Tracey Long (Patrick); and her cherished grandchildren, Nathan, Addie, Kaleigh, and Matthew. She is also survived by her mother, Nell Clayton, and her sisters, Jeannie Parchman, Denise Davis (Brian), Lisa Gomez, and Lorie Sanderson (Keith) and beloved nieces and nephews.
