Donald Gene VonBuskirk Sr.

Donald Gene VonBuskirk, Sr., 89, of Drummonds, Tennessee, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on January 21, 2026. His faithful life exemplified a godly man: a loving and faithful husband to his wife, Minnie, for 53 years, and a devoted father, grandfather, and great-grandfather; passing his faith to the next generation.

The majority of his life was marked by unwavering faith and a deep dedication to serving the Lord through bus and youth ministries, as a church mechanic, Sunday School teacher, a deacon, and by faithfully sharing God’s Word with residents of the local nursing home for 20 years. He owned and operated his business, Big ‘D’ Heating & Air, for 30 years. Donald Gene VonBuskirk, Sr. also honorably served his country, spending 4 years in the United States Marine Corps followed by 16 years in the United States Air Force.

He is survived by his seven children: Donald VonBuskirk, Jr. of Covington, TN; Deborah Burse of Horn Lake, MS; Donna Chipman of Memphis, TN; Doreen Page of Hampton, GA; Dianna Bryan of Jacksonville, FL; Darrell VonBuskirk of Drummonds, TN; and Dorothy Fusion of Covington, GA; along with 17 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

Family will receive friends from 9:00 am to 10:00 am on Friday, January 30 at Family Funeral Care 4925 Summer Ave, Memphis, TN. Services will follow at 10:00 am. Interment will be at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens 3700 N. Germantown Rd, Bartlett, TN.
