Retired employee of the Internal Revenue Service, died Friday May 1 at St. Francis Hospital.
She was born in Wagoner, Oklahoma to John and Dora Powell on November 21, 1922.
She was a member of St. Matthews Methodist Church and was very active in the Women's Society of Christian Services for many years.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of sixty years, George E. Payne.
Surviving are two daughters, Myrna Luton and son-in-law Jim Luton of Cordova, TN, and Deborah Donohue and son-in-law Tom Donohue of Shreveport, LA.
Two grandsons, Brad Luton, daughter-in-law Jennifer Luton, of Germantown, TN, and Douglas Donohue of Shreveport, LA.
She was the proud great-grandmother of Mary-May Luton of Germantown, TN.
The family will receive friends on Monday, May 4, at Memphis Funeral Home, 5599 Poplar Avenue. Visitation will be from 12:00pm until 2:00pm. Funeral service will follow at 2:00pm.
Interment will follow in Memorial Park.
