

Doris Love Turner passed away November 3, 2015 in Memphis. She was born December 12, 1924 on the farm in Polk County, Iowa to Beatrice and Harold Warren. She was one of six children raised during the Depression and the Dust Bowl. Four of her siblings still reside in Iowa. She was raised in a very spiritual family and continued her love of the Lord until her death. She married Donald James Love on June 5, 1945 in Carlisle, Iowa. They raised four children in Nebraska from 1951 -1972. In 1972 they moved to Memphis and were very active in their church along with John Deere. She is preceded in death by her parents, one brother and husband Donald James Love. She enjoyed many activities including bible study, garden club, women’s club, cooking and sewing. She married C.O. Turner III on January 30, 1993, and they enjoyed a very fulfilling and spiritual union. Much of their time was spent traveling the world, at their condo in Florida, or at home in Memphis. They shared a very deep love for each other and the Lord. C.O. was always by her side.
She is survived by her children: Greg (Lorrie) in Nebraska, Renee (Scotty) in Tennessee, Kristine (Sam) in Virginia, and Todd (Barbara) in Oklahoma; along with grandchildren who were the light of her life: Jeremy in Virginia, Adam (Christina) in Georgia, Amanda and Caroline in Virginia, Bryce (Courtney) in South Carolina, Christopher (Rachel) in Oklahoma, Sarah in Oklahoma, Tiffany (Donnie) in Nebraska, Miles in Colorado; two great-grandchildren Ava and Amari, and her husband C.O. Doris’s goal was to be a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker with her Lord’s guidance.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 7:00 PM, Wednesday, November 11th at Memphis Funeral Home at 5599 Poplar Avenue, Memphis, TN 38119, with funeral services also at this location at 10:00 AM on Thursday, November 12th. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. Donations in Doris’s name may be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children at www.twincitiesshrinershospital.org.
