Dorothy Jean Harrison

Jean was born to Wade and Dorothy (nee Frederck) Reedy on October 13, 1943, in Eupora, Mississippi (Webster County).

She was a devoted Christian, a member of Bellevue Baptist Church, and most recently attended Eudora Baptist Church in Eudora, Mississippi. She cherished time spent with her lake friends, enjoying their fellowship and the peaceful view of the lake from her deck, and found joy in working crossword puzzles and watching Hallmark movies.

She graduated from Oakhaven High School and then went on to study nursing at Baptist Hospital School of Nursing. She was a registered nurse for more than 50 years and retired in 2010 from Memphis and Shelby County Health Department after serving more than 30 years.

Jean was preceded in death by her parents, husband Steve, and son Daniel. She leaves her two daughters, Patti (Rodney) Leath and Lori Harrison; five granddaughters, Ashley Leath Dodson (Kevin), Rebecca Leath Pollock (Alex), Taylor Harrison Crume (Brandon), Hannah Harrison, and Amanda Harrison; and 10 great-grandchildren. She loved all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren dearly, visiting them as often as possible.

The family will receive visitors on Monday, November 3, 2025, from 10:00am to 11:00am at Family Funeral Care, 4925 Summer Ave, Memphis, TN 38122. The funeral will follow at 11:00am
