Dorothy Louise Owens, 86, a lifelong Memphian, died August 13, 2010. The family will receive friends on Saturday, August 21, from 1:30 - 2p.m. with a memorial service beginning at 2 p.m., all at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens on Poplar Avenue. Mrs. Owens was an avid fan of the Memphis Tigers and Grizzlies; and, she also liked to read, draw and paint, and work crossword puzzles. The true love of her life was her children, their families, and Fifi. She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Violet Grimes, and three brothers, J.R., Doug and Kenneth Grimes. Mrs. Owens is survived by her daughter, Diane Brooks (Roosevelt) of Memphis; sons, Mark Meyers of Memphis and Jim Meyers (Sandy) of Prairie Grove, AR; grandchildren, Jason and Blake Brooks, Jacob, Chase (Shawna) and Mallory Meyers; family friend, Patrick Walton, and her great-granddaughter, Isabella Faith Meyers.
