

Dorothy G Sanders beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, grand-mother, great grand-mother and great, great grandmother passed away on March 10, 2025 at the age of 98. She served all these titles well.
Dorothy (Dot aka Mama Dot) was born March 4, 1927 and she was the seventh child born to John Henry and Mary Ethel Shows who had a total of eight children.
After getting her education Dorothy meet Josephine Sanders (Smith) while they both worked together. Josephine introduced her brother, JH Sanders to Dorothy Sanders and they fell in love and got married June 9, 1946.
After getting married Dorothy (Dot) dedicated her life to creating a loving home for her husband and their two children (Eddie and Cindy). Dot was a supportive, protective, resourceful, loving wife and mother.
Her hobbies were creating beautiful flower beds, camping, waterskiing, bowling, square dancing and traveling in their motor home to places like Canada, Grand Canyon, Yosemite and Yellowstone National Parks. Dot was very active and would rather be working outside than just sitting around. She was still slalom skiing when she was 60 years old. A few weeks ago Dot said “I am looking forward to warmer weather so I can get out and work in the flower beds”.
Dot and J.H. were long time members of Germantown Baptist Church. They were active in Sunday School, Merry Makers and the senior adult choir. Dorothy had an unwavering faith in God and her family.
Dorothy (Dot aka Mama Dot) is survived by her children Eddie (Terri) Sanders and Cindy Doles. Her grandchildren Crystal Sanders (Kurt) Hamilton, Jason (Amelia) Tudor, Stacy Sanders (Jamie) Oliver, Lori Tudor (Dustin) Walker, Aaron (Shelly) Tudor. Great grandchildren Rodney (Sarah Martin) Sanders, Griffin (Laurel) West, Kennedy West, Megan Burnette, Taylor Walker, Cameron Walker, Peyton Walker, Blake Oliver and Sophia Oliver. Remi Sanders a great, great granddaughter.
She was predeceased by J. H. Sanders Jr. her husband of almost 60 years, her parents John Henry and Ethyl Shows, her two bothers and five sisters.
Dot will be forever loved and missed by all that knew her but will never be forgotten! Love you Mama Dot!
Services at Collierville Funeral Home, 3863 Bailey Station Road, Collierville Tn. 38017. Visitation will be held from (12 noon) until the service and the service will be held at 1 pm Friday March 14, 2025.
